Equipment for randomly selecting seeds which will subsequently be germination tested comprises reception tray, box with suction orifices which approach tray, motor, pump and motor control system
Seeds (G) are placed in a receptacle tray (11) which has a lid (12) with holes (13). A box (20) with orifices (22,23) is fitted over the receptacle tray such that the orifices abut the receptacle holes. The combined receptacle and box are rotated by a motor (16) and a vacuum applied to the box through an entry (24). Random seeds are attached to the suction orifices and are removed for testing after a further rotation An Independent claim is also included for an installation which uses the rotating receptacle tray and suction box
