An apparatus for folding a product having a first portion and a second portion has a receiving roll with a drive assembly for rotating the receiving roll at variable surface speeds in a first direction of rotation. The receiving roll is adapted to selectively hold the first and second portions of the product thereto. A folding roll has a drive assembly for rotating the folding roll at variable surface speeds in a second, opposite direction of rotation. The folding roll is adapted to selectively hold the first portion of the product thereto. An oscillating member is adapted to transfer the first portion of the product from the receiving roll to the folding roll. The oscillating member has a drive assembly for moving the oscillating member at variable surface speeds in both the first direction and the second direction.L'invention concerne un appareil de pliage de produit comportant une première partie et une seconde partie qui présente un rouleau de réception pourvu d'un ensemble d'entraînement servant à entraîner en rotation le rouleau de réception à des vitesses de surface variables, dans une première direction de rotation. Le rouleau de réception est conçu pour maintenir de manière sélective la première partie et la seconde partie du produit sur ledit rouleau. Un rouleau de pliage comporte un ensemble d'entraînement servant à entraîner en rotation le rouleau de pliage à des vitesses de surface variables dans une seconde direction de rotation opposée à la première direction de rotation. Le rouleau de pliage est conçu pour maintenir de manière sélective la première partie du produit sur ledit rouleau. Un élément oscillant est conçu pour transférer la première partie du produit, du rouleau de réception au rouleau de pliage. Cet élément oscillant présente un ensemble d'entraînement servant à déplacer l'élément oscillant à des vitesses de surface variables à la fois dans la première direction et dans la seconde direction.
