Disclosed are an iris image recognition method and user equipment. The method comprises: collecting a collected object to obtain a first iris image; recognizing whether target iris information matching iris information carried in the first iris image exists in pre-stored preset iris information, and determining, based on an original radius of a pupil in the first iris image, whether the first iris image is a real iris image; and determining that the first iris image is a legal iris image when the target iris information exists and the first iris image is a real iris image. Implementing the embodiments of the present invention can improve the security of user equipment information.
