A surgical procedure can be performed with a navigated instrument. The navigated instrument can have associated therewith, such as attached directly to or relative to a surgical instrument, a tracking device to track a location of the instrument, the instrument (300) can include the tracking device (52) which includes a plurality of tracking elements (302, 304, 306). The tracking elements can be embedded or positioned within a holding portion of the instrument, such as one or more recesses (310) formed in the instrument (300). Each of the three tracking elements (302, 304, 306) can be formed or provided as a coil of wire barrel -wrapped around a selected core (312).La présente invention concerne une intervention chirurgicale qui peut être réalisée avec un instrument de navigation.
