PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide clear, stable, liquid carotenoid formulations capable of obtaining clear liquids even after pasteurization, and to provide beverages with clearness and color stability.SOLUTION: The present invention is directed to a clear liquid formulation comprising: a) at least one carotenoid b) at least one modified food starch c) at least one saccharide and d) water, especially to a clear liquid formulation comprising: a) 0.1 to 10 wt% (preferably 0.5 to 5.0 wt%, more preferably 0.5 to 3.0 wt%, most preferably 1.0 to 3.0 wt%) of at least one carotenoid b) 20 to 60 wt% (preferably 30 to 50 wt%) of at least one modified food starch c) 0.5 to 60 wt% (preferably 0.5 to 30 wt%, more preferably 0.5 to 20 wt%, most preferably 1.0 to 10 wt%) of at least one saccharide and d) 35 to 75 wt% (preferably 45 to 65 wt%) of water, all amounts based on the total weight of the liquid formulation.
