PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a webbing winding device which absorbs the tension to be applied to a webbing belt by the drag generated by the back electromotive voltage generated in a motor, and correctly changes its absorption amount based on the magnitude or the like of the tension. SOLUTION: When the detection signal Rs according to the rotational speed in the drawing direction of a spool is output from a hole sensor 122, an ECU 102 with the detection signal Rs input therein outputs the drive control signal Ds corresponding to the rotational speed in the drawing direction of the spool and the set value of the preset drag. A drive circuit 104 with the drive control signal Ds input therein turns ON/OFF an electric field effect transistor FET1 at the duty ratio in which the drag generated by a motor 70 in this state is the preset value.
