Steering apparatus for a vehicle comprising three front or rear ground engaging wheels located in the centre plane of the vehicle and steer able in response to operation by a user, wherein the outer wheel being adjustable in height depending on the angle of steering. The steering apparatus being configured such that when the steer angle is straight ahead, all three wheels contact the ground. When the steer angle is turned, the angle of the wheel on the outside of a curve is turned partly towards the steer angle of the center wheel, the wheel on the inside of the curve is not turned towards the steer angle of the ground-engaging wheels, and the height of the inside wheel is raised relative to the outside wheel.
