To provide an aqueous detergent composition which has an odor of a base peculiar to a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether carboxylate or its salt being effectively masked and has moderately strong fragrance.
SOLUTION: The aqueous detergent composition contains components (A) and (B) and (C), wherein: (A) is the polyoxyethylene alkyl ether carboxylate or its salt (B) is a 8-12C aliphatic aldehyde and (C) is a terpene perfume compound.
