PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorant composition which can decrease complex odor derived from perspiration and aldehydes and is safe for the human body, and to provide a deodorizing method.

SOLUTION: (i) The deodorant composition contains a polyhydroxyamine compound shown by formula (1) (wherein, R1represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or a hydroxyalkyl group, R2represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or a hydroxyalkyl group, and R3and R4each represents an alkylene group) and/or its salt (a) and an aldehyde-free perfume component (b), and in which a mass ratio [(a)/(b)] is &ge1/3. (ii) The deodorant composition contains the (a) and (b) components and an aldehyde perfume component (c), and in which the mass ratio [(c)/(b)] is &le1/4. (iii) The deodorizing method uses these deodorant compositions.
