PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient method for producing an absorbent article which prevents ill-fitting feeling or uncomfortable feeling due to abutment between the skin and front and back ends of the absorbent article.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 comprises a liquid-permeable surface sheet 2, a liquid-impermeable or liquid non-permeable back sheet 3, and a substantially longitudinal absorber 4 interposed between the sheets. The surface sheet 2 has extending parts 2a and 2b on the front and back ends in the longitudinal direction which extend outward of ends 4a of the absorber 4 and ends 3a of the back sheet 3. End seal parts 7a and 7b made by pressing and bonding the surface sheet 2 and the back sheet 3 are formed on positions distant from distal edges 2a and 2b of the extending parts 2a and 2b.
