A carrier tape of the present invention is constituted by a strip-shaped base material, and includes a plurality of recesses provided in a first surface of the base material and for containing electronic components, a covering unit configured to seal openings of the recesses, and a projection provided on a second surface of the base material along a longitudinal direction of the base material. A length of the projection extends over at least two of the recesses.
