The present invention provides personal care products or home care products having self-assembled microparticles having an acid and an organic base having two or more acidic groups in a solvent. The microparticles may be formed into a macrostructure and can be a support for carrying components of a personal care or home care composition. The particles are of the micron scale. The fine particles can be obtained by bringing a bisacid and an organic base into contact with each other in a hydrophilic solvent.
