PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of tip-blight of prairie gentian and remarkably improve the shipping ratio by a simple artificial means applied at one stage of the growth of prairie gentian which is familiar nearly all the year round on a flower shop by a greenhouse culture, which causes the frequent occurrence of tip-blight (occurring mainly at the upper node having soft tissue to deteriorate the appearance of the flower and delay the blooming) to remarkably lower the commercializing ratio. SOLUTION: The tip-blight of prairie gentian is prevented by applying an air flow of 0.5-2.0 m/s for about 12 hr everyday from the morning to the evening with a blower when the height of the prairie gentian cultured in a greenhouse reaches 7-26 cm or thereabout.
