PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial cultivation method for mushroom using compost comprising using animal manure, in particular cow manure generated in large quantity and having less availableness, as culture media for mushroom cultivation. SOLUTION: The artificial cultivation method for mushroom is provided based on finding that use of animal manure, in particular cow manure for artificial cultivation of mushroom results in remarkably increasing the production volume of carpophore and thereby improving production efficiency in artificial cultivation of mushroom. Specifically, inclusion of 5-60 wt.% of the manure makes it possible to efficiently cultivate shiitake mushroom, Lyophyllum ulmarium, nameko mushroom, blue oyster mushroom, Pleurotus cornucopiae or the like.
