A fundus camera includes an irradiation unit including a plurality of LED elements and a fluorescent material that emits light by being excited by light emitted from the LED elements and configured to emit light that is generated by combining light emitted from the LED elements and excitation light from the fluorescent material, an illumination optical system configured to irradiate an eye fundus of a subjects eye with the light emitted by the illumination unit, an observation unit configured to form an eye fundus image by receiving light, which is emitted from the illumination unit and reflected from the eye fundus, and an imaging unit configured to pick up the eye fundus image formed by the observation unit.
