PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device capable of emitting light of any color with less uneven tone, rich in color reproduction and high color rendition.

SOLUTION: The light emitting device comprises a light emitting element 11 to radiate with an excitation light 1, a fluorescent material 31 to absorb the excitation light 1 and convert its wavelength so as to emit an illuminating light 2, and an optical fiber 20 to guide the light radiated from the light emitting element 11 to the fluorescent material 31. The excitation light 1 radiated from the light emitting element 11 is condensed on an output part 21 through a lens 13. The condensed excitation light 1 is projected in the optical fiber 20 and radiated to the fluorescent material 31 coated on the output part 21 provided on a tip of the optical fiber 20 so that the illuminating light 2 from the fluorescent material 31 can be emitted to the outside.
