An agent, exhibiting an antiarrhythmic effect and extracted from plants of genus Aconitum family Ranunculaceae, contains the alkaloids lappaconitine, N-acetylsepaconitine, 1-desmethyllappaconitine, ranaconitine, N-deacetyllappaconitine, isolappaconitine, 9-deoxy-lappaconitine or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The agent, as a rule, contains alkaloids in the form of hydrobromide salts of lappaconitine, N-acetylsepaconitine, 1-desmethyllappaconitine, ranaconitine, N-deacetyllappaconitine, isolappaconitine, and 9-deoxy-lappaconitine. In specific implementations, the agent may be extracted from the rhizomes and roots of the plant Aconitum septentrionale Koelle, of the family Ranunculaceae, or from the rhizomes and roots of the plant Aconitum leucostomum, family Ranunculaceae, or from the herb of the plant Aconitum leucostomum, family Ranunculaceae. A pharmaceutical composition for oral administration contains the agent exhibiting an antiarrhythmic effect, characterized by any of the aforementioned implementations thereof, in an effective quantity, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Preferably, the pharmaceutically acceptable carrier contains starch, sucrose and calcium stearate, and additionally contains croscarmellose sodium.
