PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing leukocyte and abnormal prion capable of efficiently removing the leukocyte from a blood preparation, removing abnormal prion simultaneously, and maintaining blood preparation quality after filtration and storage.SOLUTION: A coating agent includes a polymer comprising a unit derived from a polymerizable monomer including a basic nitrogen-containing fragment, a unit derived from a hydrophobic polymerizable monomer, and a unit derived from a polymerizable monomer containing a protonic neutral hydrophilic fragment, wherein the molar fraction of the unit derived from the polymerizable monomer including the basic nitrogen-containing fragment is 3 mol% or more and 5 mol% or less, and the molar fraction of the unit derived from the hydrophobic polymerizable monomer with respect to the unit derived from the polymerizable monomer containing the protonic neutral hydrophilic fragment is 0.52-0.67.
