To solve the problem that noise in the ultrasonic tomogram decreases detection precision when detecting a position of an in vivo calculus ON the basis of an ultrasonic tomogram.
SOLUTION: Original data distribution 40 of pixel data of the ultrasonic tomogram are subtracted by a component 42 following a Rayleigh distribution to obtain a residual data distribution 44. An extraction object data range, where the intensity of the residual data distribution 44 with respect to the intensity of the original data distribution 40 is equal to or larger than a prescribed ratio, is obtained and a high reflection area comprising pixels belonging to the extraction object data range in the ultrasonic tomogram is extracted as a candidate area of a calculus.
