PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope device capable of reducing the influence of a communication failure on image display, and to provide an endoscope observation system.SOLUTION: An endoscope 100 images an observation object to obtain image data. A network control part 104 transmits the image data imaged by the endoscope 100 to an image processing server 102, and receives image data processed by the image processing server 102. A display image selection part 106 selects one between the image data received from the image processing server 102 and image data processed by a simple image processing part 105 according to control by a selection control part 107, and outputs the selected image data to a monitor 103. The selection control part 107 monitors a receiving state of the data from the image processing server 102, and controls an operation with which the display image selection part 106 selects the image data on the basis of the receiving state.
