The invention relates to Holding device for a syringe pump, the holding device (1) being configured for holding the barrel (101) of a syringe (102) and comprising at least one holding member (2) which is rotatable from an open into a closed position； and a blocking mechanism interacting with the holding member (2) in such a way that the blocking mechanism permits a rotation of the holding member (2) from the open into the closed position and blocks a rotation from the closed into the open position. According to the invention, a clutching mechanism (6) is provided allowing the holding member (2) to be disengaged from the blocking mechanism such that the holding member (2) can be rotated from the closed into the open position.
