The present invention relates to a dehydration responsive element binding protein 1 (DREB1) gene for improving drought resistance and a use thereof. More specifically, in the present invention, the DREB1 gene separated from potatoes is used for manufacturing transgenic plants, and the transgenic plant with the DREB1 gene has effects on drought resistance. Therefore, the DREB1 gene is used for producing plants with drought resistance.본 발명은 내건성 증진 DREB1 유전자 및 이의 용도에 관한 것으로, 구체적으로 감자에서 분리한 신규한 DREB1(Dehydration responsive element binding protein 1) 유전자를 형질전환한 식물체가 내건성 효과가 있는 것을 확인하여 이를 이용하여 가뭄에 강한 식물체를 생산하는데 이용할 수 있다.
