PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image capturing device capable of providing good optical performance with a small number of lens components.SOLUTION: A lens component is defined as a lens having just two surfaces, an object-side surface and image-side surface, exposed to air in a path of light contributing to image formation, or an effective light path. An image capturing device comprises an imaging optical system comprising two lens components, an object-side lens component L1 and image-side lens component L2, in order from the object side to the image side and an image capturing unit disposed on the image side of the imaging optical system and provided with a concavely curved image capturing surface I on the object side.
