摘要:
A diabetes management system comprising: - a handheld medical device (12) that includes: - a port (21) configured to receive a test strip having a reaction site to receive a sample of fluid from a patient; - a blood glucose meter (bG), which can be operated cooperatively together with the test strip inserted in the port (21), configured to measure glucose in the fluid sample that is in the test strip and associate the identification information with glucose measurement; - a wireless transceiver (28) that can be operated cooperatively together with the bG meter to communicate glucose measurement and identification information via a wireless data link; - a user interface configured to instruct the handheld medical device (12) to initiate a linking procedure in response to the input received from a user and to display a unique identifier associated with the handheld medical device (12); and - a first processor (26) configured to: - determine if an automatic send function is enabled in the handheld medical device (12); - determine whether the handheld medical device (12) is linked to a mobile computing device (16); and order the wireless transceiver (28) to establish a wireless connection with the mobile computing device (16) and communicate the glucose measurement and identification information to the mobile computing device (16) in response to the determination of whether the automatic sending function it is enabled and the determination of whether the handheld medical device (12) is linked to the mobile computing device (16); the mobile computing device (16) comprising a second processor configured to run a diabetes management application (14) stored in an associated memory, the diabetes management application being configured to process a plurality of glucose measurements and identification information associated with each of the plurality of glucose measurements, and to display, on a user screen of the mobile computing device (16), a message indicating at least one
