Disclosed are a functional suture and a method for manufacturing the same. The functional suture according to the present invention comprises: a suture for stitching the affected part and a color expression material pigmented on the suture and expressing a different color from the suture depending on external environment. The functional suture according to the present invention is hardly shown while the affected part is stitched, but can be easily visually differentiated by the color expressed by the color expression material when removed.
