PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a massage apparatus capable of massaging the back of a human body more appropriately by a treating element.SOLUTION: The massage apparatus includes: a support body 8 supporting the front side of the human body the treating element 1 disposed behind the support body to massage the back of a person to be treated a measuring means for measuring a plurality of positions on the back of the human body supported by the support body and a control means for controlling driving of the treating element based on the measured data measured by the measuring means. The massage apparatus further includes an arithmetic part for carrying out arc approximation using a plurality of position measuring points near an optional position measuring point on the back of the human body.
