PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide functional materials which are safe for daily ingest and capable of inhibiting prostaglandin E2 production, and functional materials capable of inhibiting aggrecanase 1 production, as well as pharmaceutical compositions and food compositions utilizing them.SOLUTION: Disclosed herein is a prostaglandin E2 production inhibiting composition comprising, as an effective ingredient, one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of cyclolanostane compounds and lophenol compounds.
