PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide functional materials having an action of inhibiting DNA damage which can be ingestible or applyable safely daily, and to provide pharmaceutical compositions, food/beverage compositions and cosmetic compositions using the same.SOLUTION: One or more compounds selected from the group consisting of lophenol compounds and cyclolanostane compounds are used as active ingredients of a composition for inhibiting DNA damage.
