PURPOSE: A method for extracting remaining agricultural chemicals in foods and detecting toxicity in foods using bioluminescent bacteria is provided, thereby rapidly extracting the remaining agricultural chemicals in foods with safe extracting solvents. CONSTITUTION: The method for extracting the remaining agricultural chemicals in foods and detecting toxicity in foods comprises the steps of: cutting and washing foods with pure water; adding mixed solvent of methanol and polyethylene glycol into the foods for 60 to 120 seconds to extract chemical substances therefrom; and analyzing the extraction efficiency using bioluminescent bacteria TV1061 (ATCC 69315) which emit light when toxic substances damage proteins in a cell.
