PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a tomographic image of a subject, the image in which noise components contained in reference light have been removed.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus obtains the tomographic image of a subject using optical coherence tomography. The imaging apparatus includes: a light source 1 for emitting light first light splitting means 3 for splitting the light emitted from the light source into reference light and measurement light second light splitting means 10 for splitting the reference light into first reference light and second reference light a detection means 19 which is provided with a first detection area 19a on which interference light resulting from the interference of the first reference light with return light obtained by irradiating the subject with the measurement light impinges and with a second detection area 19b on which the second reference light impinges, and detects signals of light impinging on the first and second detection areas individually and image generation means which corrects a first detection signal detected by the first detection area using a second detection signal detected in the second detection area and generates the tomographic image of the subject on the basis of the corrected first detection signal.
