A method of dispersing a light beam in a liquid culture medium used for the cultivation (and production) of algae, such as chlorella and the like. A strong light beam, e.g., a solar beam is led through a light guide, for example formed by a bundle of optical fibres and dispersed with an appropriate illuminance throughout the liquid culture medium thus increasing the efficiency of the cultivation of the algae.
