A method for placement of seeds (1) one by one onto a growth medium (2), whereby initially seeds are extracted and singled-out from a disorderly group of seeds (4) is disclosed. The meth-od comprises the following steps: placement of the disorderly group of seeds (4) onto a seed wheel (6) which has a wheel plane (8), wherein the seed wheel plane is angled with respect to a horizontal plane (10)； such that single seeds (1) are allowed to enter trough going openings (12) in the seed wheel (6) which openings (12) are distanced from a rotation axis (16) of the seed wheel (6), whereby the seed wheel (6) is rotated around the rotation axis (16) which axis is per-pendicular to the wheel plane (8) thereby elevating a single seed (1) in each opening (12) out of the group of seeds (4) and allow singled-out seeds (1) in each opening (12) to leave the opening at a predetermined rotational position of the seed wheel (6) and fall or trickle down a tube ore chute (42) onto a growth medium(2).
