PURPOSE: A composition containing a Cordyceps militaris extract is provided to reduce fat accumulation in a liver cell, to treat reduction of liver functions, and to prevent or treat non-alcoholic steatosis and alcoholic steatosis. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing and treating non-alcoholic steatosis contains a Cordyceps militaris extract. A method for preparing the composition comprises: a step of extracting Cordyceps militaris with hot water； a step of mixing the hot water extract with a cold ethanol and precipitating； and a step of dissolving the precipitate and freeze-drying. An agent for preventing and treating non-alcoholic steatosis and alcoholic steatosis contains the composition and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.본 발명은 번데기동충하초의 추출물을 포함하는 조성물에 대한 것이다. 번데기동충하초의 추출물을 포함하는 조성물은 실험동물에서 고지방식이로 장시간 사육하여 유발한 간세포 내의 지방축적을 감소시키며 또한 간 기능 저하를 개선한다. 따라서 본 발명의 조성물은 각종 원인에 의해 야기되는 비알코올성 지방간증 및 알코올성 지방간증의 예방 또는 치료에 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
