PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion generating device and an ion generating device cleaning method with which it is possible to easily clean an ion generating part, which is arranged for a path wall of a flow path through which air sent out by an air blower flows and is emitted to the outside, using the air flowing through the flow path.SOLUTION: A hole 15 is provided for a path wall 14 of a flow path 13 through which air sent out by an air blower 2 flows and is emitted to the outside. A holding body 4 that holds an ion generating part 3 for generating an ion is pivotally attached to an edge portion of the hole 15. An electric motor 51 is provided which is connected to the holding body 4 through a belt transmission mechanism 52.
