The present invention relates to a stable liquid neurotoxin preparation free of animal protein, which comprises a surfactant, an amino acid selected from tryptophan and tyrosine, sodium ion, chloride ion and phosphate ion. The present invention relates to a liquid neurotoxin preparation which contains a buffer solution, has a pH of 5.5 to 8, and is stable for 2 months. The compositions are suitable for use in therapy, and in particular for administration to a patient to achieve a desired therapeutic or cosmetic effect.
