PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a deodorizer easily usable to a fiber product and further capable of exhibiting excellent effect to unpleasant odor such as sweat odor stuck to a fiber product.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a deodorizer comprising silicon dioxide and zinc oxide as the main components, and, in the production of the deodorizer, a regulation step is performed. In the regulation step, the regulation of hydrogen ion concentration (pH) is performed using a metal salt aqueous solution causing a metal hydroxide in a weak acid to neutral region.
