PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate troubles due to suction of a packing in vacuum deaeration state, and to improve sealing ability of the packing.
SOLUTION: The packing 3 includes a base 3a mounted to a mounting part 4a formed on one of an opening 1a and a lid 2 of a chamber 1, and an elastically deformable movable part 3b projected from the base toward the other sealing surface 5 to interpose a space part S between them. A ventilation passage 4a communicating the interior 1b of the chamber to the back of the base is formed on the mounting part, and a through hole 3c communicating the ventilation passage to the space part is bored in the base, whereby even if the opposite surfaces of the base and the movable part 3b closely adhere to each other with deaeration in the chamber, steam is introduced into the chamber in the subsequent sterilizing process, so that some of the steam is caused to flow toward the space part through the ventilation passage and the through hole, thereby releasing the negative pressure state of the space part to make the movable part separate and closely adhere to the sealing surface.
