The fishing reel maximizes the advantages of a centrifugal brake, a magnet brake, and an inertia brake of the related art, such as abrasion prevention, the ability to prevent a decrease in the flying distance in casting when a spool is rotated at a low speed, and the ability to be used compatibly for a left-handed or right-handed handle. The fishing reel includes a spool plate including a spool cam, a brake pad, and a movable cam. The spool cam is fitted to a hub of a spool to rotate together with the spool, and has a pressing portion protruding to one side such that a lowest point and a highest point are connected on an incline in a radial direction.
