PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a platinum fiber having antibacterial activity in addition to water absorbency and a transpiring property.SOLUTION: The platinum fiber having antibacterial activity in addition to water absorbency and a transpiring property is produced by dipping a material to be processed in an aqueous solution of platinum nano colloid in which platinum particles are dispersed or by spraying the aqueous solution on the material, followed by drying to fix the platinum particles of the platinum nano colloid on a surface of the material to be processed. The platinum fiber shows water absorbency of 12 seconds or less according to a test method for water absorption rate by dropping of JIS-L-1907. When a sample of the fiber and a watch glass which were allowed to stand under normal conditions are weighed (W), 0.1 mL of water is dropped on the watch glass, and the sample is mounted thereon. The combination is weighed (WO), allowed to stand in a testing room under normal conditions, and weighed (Wt)at every specified time to show an evaporation rate of 70% or more after 60 minutes. The platinum fiber shows bacteriostatic activity of 2.0 or more on a JIS basis in a bacteria emulsion absorption method of a quantitative test according to JIS L1902:2008 using Staphylococcus aureus.【課題】本発明は吸水性・蒸散性に加え抗菌活性を有するプラチナ繊維を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】被処理物を白金粒子が分散したプラチナナノコロイドの水溶液に浸し又は吹き付けて、乾燥させることで、前記被処理物の表面に上記プラチナナノコロイドの上記白金粒子を定着させることにより、JIS-L-1907吸水速度滴下法により12秒以下の吸水性を示し、標準状態で放置した試料と時計皿の重量を測定（W）し、時計皿に0.1mlの水を滴下し、その上に試料を乗せ、重量を測定（WO）し、次に標準状態の試験室に放置し、所定時間ごとの重量を測定（Wt）すると、60分経過で70%以上の蒸散率を示し、黄色ぶどう球菌を用いたJIS L 1902 :2008定量試験の菌液吸収法において、JIS基準で2.0以上の静菌活性値を示す吸水性・蒸散性に加え抗菌活性を有するプラチナ繊維。【選択図】 図１
