PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an edible film that decays easily beyond recognition when it contacts water or a food material with much moisture.SOLUTION: An edible film contains at least water-soluble hydrocolloid and dietary fiber material, and the dietary fiber material is naturally derived cellulose having water-holding capacity of 350 to 2000 mass%(w/w).
