1. A device for measuring the hydraulic permeability of dentin samples, comprising: a) a flow cell containing: i) an inlet channel having an inner hole that extends from the inner hole and extends outward of the flow cell; ii) an outlet channel hydraulically connected to the inlet channel; and iii) at least one dentin-fixing sample mechanism for fixing the dentin sample between the inlet and outlet channels; b) a pump mechanism for creating pressure and pumping fluid into the flow cell through the inlet channel, through the dentin sample, and from the flow cell through the outlet channel; c) a pressure regulator hydraulically connected to the pump mechanism and designed to control the pressure generated by the pump mechanism; and d) at least one flow meter in measuring contact with the fluid pumped by the pump mechanism, and designed to directly measure the flow rate of the fluid pumped into the flow cell and through the dentin sample. 2. The device according to claim 1, wherein the pressure regulator is a configurable regulator capable of maintaining a pressure in the device of 207 kPa (30 psi) or less without fluctuations in the supported pressure equal to or more than ± 0.7 kPa (0, 1 psi) for at least 10 minutes. 3. The device according to claim 2, in which the pressure regulator is configured to maintain a pressure in the device of 0.007 to about 34.5 kPa (5 psi) without fluctuations in the supported pressure equal to or more than ± 0.7 kPa (0, 1 psi) for at least 10 minutes. 4.
