The invention relates to a test device (12) for a test stand (10) for motor vehicles, having a load device (16) for applying a drive and/or a loading torque to a hub of a motor vehicle to be tested, an adapter device (18) which, in a testing position, couples the hub of the motor vehicle to the load device (16), in particular to the shaft (26) thereof, and a support device (20) for the adapter device (18), wherein the support device (20) and the load device (16) have a common moving base (22). The invention also relates to a test stand (10) having at least one test device (12), as well as a test stand (10) for a motor vehicle having at least two test devices (12), wherein both the test devices (12) can be moved in opposing directions on the test stand (10), in particular independently of one another.
