PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ultraviolet irradiation method and device capable of irradiating ultraviolet irradiation amount needed with corresponding to ultraviolet permeability of a stock solution.SOLUTION: In an ultraviolet irradiation method for flowing a stock solution 3 which is a target for ultraviolet irradiation through a spiral tube 22 having ultraviolet permeability and irradiating ultraviolet to the stock solution from an outside of spiral of the spiral tube 22, a gas is blown to the stock solution 3. The gas is at least one of gas selected from air, oxygen gas including ozone, carbonic acid gas, inert gas or specific gas suitable for generating, decomposing or chemically changing a target material by an optical chemical reaction on a specific material in the stock solution. Further it is preferable that a fine photocatalyst is added to the stock solution in the case that the optical chemical reaction is utilized.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT【課題】 原液の紫外線透過率に対応して必要な紫外線照射量を照射可能な紫外線照射方法及び装置を提供する。【解決手段】 紫外線照射対象の原液３を螺旋状の紫外線透過性を有するスパイラルチューブ２２に流通し、スパイラルチューブ２２の螺旋の外側にから紫外線を原液に照射する紫外線照射方法において、原液３に気体を吹込むことを特徴とする。気体は、空気、酸素ガス（オゾンを含む）、炭酸ガス、不活性ガス、又は原液中の特定物質を光化学反応で目的物質を生成、分解又は化学変化をするのに適した特定ガスの中から選択した少なくとも１つの気体である。さらに、光化学反応を利用する場合は、微細な光触媒を原液に添加することが望ましい。【選択図】 図１
