PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical device capable of heightening the intensity of exciting light to be delivered to a subject, while securing good insertability into the subject body.SOLUTION: A light guide 28 for transmitting light from a light source 3 to the head of an inserting part 9 is constituted in sections: a first light guiding part 28a using a multi-component glass fiber which is positioned on the distal end side and a second light guiding part 28b installed between the first light guiding part and the light source 3. A multi-component glass fiber is used for the first light guiding part 28a, while a liquid type light guide is used for the second light guiding part 28b.
