PURPOSE: A multi-layer activeness material type ultrasonic transducer and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to etch a board layer of a part where a piezoelectric element is positioned in a flexible printed circuit board and to bind the piezoelectric element to a metal layer immediately, thereby improving the performance and simplifying the process, by decreasing the impedance and increasing the capacitance between the piezoelectric elements by laminating the piezoelectric element. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of an ultrasonic transducer is comprised of the following steps: a board formation step (S100) forming a metal layer on a board layer; an exposure/development step (S200) for forming a desired pattern circuit on the board layer and the metal layer; an etching step (S300) which partially etches the board layer and the metal layer for forming the circuit; a protective layer laminating step (S400) laminating a protective layer on the metal layer which is exposed for the protection of the metal layer; a surface treatment step (S500) which surface-treats the exposed metal layer; and a piezoelectric element binding step (130) which binds a piezoelectric element on the surface-treated metal layer.
