The access port (36) includes a conduit (42) defining a passageway (44). The flush port (38) projects from the conduit (42) and is fluidly open to the passageway (44) at an outlet. (56). The catheter assembly (24) includes a fitting (74). The fitting (74) includes a hub (90) and a tube (92), with the tube (92) defining an exterior (106) and interior, surface forming a lumen (94), a circumferential groove (108) in the exterior surface (106), and a plurality of apertures (110) fluidly open to the lumen (94) and the circumferential groove (108). The tube is sized (92) to be slidably received within the passageway (44) such that a fluid pathway is formed between the flush port (38) and a distal end (82) of the catheter (70) via the flush port outlet (56), the circumferential groove (108), the plurality of apertures (110), and the lumen (94).
