A monitoring system for a military vehicle 2 comprising sensors 40 monitoring the condition of a user (operator, driver) of the vehicle 4, 6, 8, 10; and controller 42 comparing the monitored condition to a reference condition and providing an output to one or more users. The reference condition may be from the monitored user or from a previous/existing user of the vehicle. The output may be provided in real-time. A user interface (14, Fig.4) may give users selective interaction to vehicle control systems; the access may be limited, prevented, or given to a different user depending on the monitored condition of a user. Both controller and sensors may be part of the vehicle, mobile within the vehicle, or worn by the user. The condition of the user may be their environment or their physiological condition. The vehicle may further comprise a weapon firing control system (20, Fig.4).
