The present invention provides a freeze-dried pharmaceutical formulationcomprisingtetrodotoxin or an analog thereof in an amount of 0,5-60µg per dose, whichhas good stability andis safe for use by injection in humans and can be stored at room temperaturefor a long time. Saidformulation also contains compounds, such as compounds containing glycosidicbonds selectedfrom any one of disaccharides, ficolls, the derivatives thereof or theirmixtures capable of reducingC-4 hydroxyl activity of the tetrodotoxin molecule, or the analogs thereof,and a co-solvent(s) whichimproves the solubility of tetrodotoxin or the analogs thereof.
