PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent blown-out highlights or blocked-up shadows of an endoscope observation image occurring when changing over illumination light.SOLUTION: A light source device includes: a white light source emitting a white light flux and a rotary filter sequentially taking out a plurality of illumination lights from the white light flux. The rotary filter includes: a rotary plate having a plurality of concentric circular filter regions whose center is a rotational axis a drive part rotating the rotary plate at a constant speed and a changeover unit changing over the filter region on which the white light flux is incident. Each filter region has a white light filter part taking out white light that is the illumination light for normal observation, and a special light filter part taking out special light that is the illumination light for special light observation, which are arranged in a circumferential direction.
