PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more simply achieve a structure for protecting a tip of a tip rod in transportation or the like of a jointed fishing rod.SOLUTION: A fishing rod in an embodiment includes: a hollow hand rod whose tip end side is opened a tip rod whose entire length is greater than that of the hand rod and a protection member which has an approximately rod shape, is provided with an annular member that radially protrudes out at a longitudinal specific position, and has a smaller outer diameter than an inner diameter of the hand rod in at least a portion from one end part to the specific position. The protection member is inserted from one end thereof into the tip end side of the hand rod, to the position where the annular member comes into contact with the end part of the tip end side of the hand rod. The entire length of the hand rod having the protection member inserted therein, the length including the protection member, is longer than the entire length of the tip rod.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
